Pitching Machines for Players Ages 5-8

Any baseball player can benefit from a pitching machine, no matter their age. Although most younger baseball players will hit from a tee, getting them used to an incoming pitch is a great way to get them used to machine pitch leagues and real pitches. Parents love the heater sports machines, our Louisville Slugger mechanical pitching machines, and drop toss machines, as they are inexpensive, lightweight and perfect for young kids.

Still need help picking the right pitching machine? Be sure to check out our pitching machine buyer's guide here, or give us a call at (888) 466-0009 to speak to a pitching machine expert today!

Best Pitching Machines for Elementary School Baseball Players Aged 5-8

Although most young baseball players from the ages of 5-8 will hit from a batting tee, a pitching machine can still be very effective tool in helping them improve their batting and fielding skills. Most Tee Ball leagues consist of young players ages 4-7, but after Tee Ball, most children will advance to a machine pitch league for the next step of their baseball journey. Because of this, many parents and coaches like to train their young players with a machine to prepare them for machine pitch and live pitch leagues. The experience of hitting from a tee is much different than an incoming pitch at high speeds, and teaching your child young will help them tremendously throughout their baseball career.

For children ages 5-8, we recommend one wheel pitching machines that can throw at speeds of up to 45 mph, with capabilities of doing infield and outfield drills (ground balls, pop flies, etc). Although some young kids don't need to hit pitches at 45mph, this will ensure the kids don't outgrow their pitching machines anytime soon. This will also help to ensure that the machine will be able to throw ground balls hard and pop flies far enough to simulate real life situations.
